For many years now, people have been hearing about global warming, how it affects the environment, what it means for the future of our children or grandchildren, and what it means for us. Global warming is caused by gases emitted naturally from plants and animals, and also from the burning of fossil fuels. These gases build up in the atmosphere and blanket the heat in.

Many people understand that greenhouse gases are the gases that make the earth hotter, or spur global warming. Recently, scientists figured out that the more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere the hotter the earth gets, and the more greenhouse gases are emitted. The cycle will change the model predictions of Global warming considerably because it will actually happen a lot faster and than formerly understood.

This is no doubt a world issue because it affects ever person on the earth. Global warming is a bad thing because the weather patterns it spurs make natural disasters more prevalent, and more severe. Tornados and hurricanes (As demonstrated by Hurricane Katrina) in particular will be stronger. Global warming also affects animals that need icebergs, glaciers, and cold water to survive will be facing problems.

We also have to realize the Global Warming already poses a threat to us, in the last 100 years the temperature has already increased by almost 2 degrees Celsius. A projection for future temperature rise is much direr, because of the greenhouse gas growth gaining speed.
